01 / service

When TORC is the right method

  • Listed or period masonry cannot take abrasion.
  • Layers of old paint or carbon are sitting on stone or brick.
  • A commercial facade needs cleaning before recoating.
  • You need a method that protects the substrate and the building consent.

02 / why TORC

Why TORC instead of grit blasting

Some surfaces need more than steam but cannot take aggressive blasting. TORC gives controlled cleaning where the surface matters.

01

Paint hides detail

TORC can lift layers without cutting into the masonry face.

02

Carbon crust grips hard

Steam may soften surface dirt, but carbon and old paint often need controlled abrasion.

03

Grit blasting is too aggressive

The wrong blast media can erase tooling, edges and character in one pass.

04

Consent needs proof

A test patch and method statement give the client or conservation officer something to approve.

03 / process

Test patch first. Then controlled cleaning.

01

Survey and test patch

Inspect the substrate, soiling and access, then agree a test patch before the full clean.

02

Method statement and access plan

Set the method, RAMS, containment, access and documentation before mobilisation.

03

TORC clean at controlled pressure

Clean in controlled passes with low pressure air, water and fine granulate.

04

Inspect, rinse, hand back clean

Inspect the surface, rinse where needed and hand back a clean area with the record.

Frequently asked

Answers before the survey, not after the quote.

Is it gentle enough for listed stone?
Yes. TORC is a low pressure, low abrasion system chosen for delicate and historic surfaces. We agree a test patch first.
Can you handle a commercial site with access and RAMS?
That is our core work. RAMS signed off before we start, access planned, fully insured and accredited. Documentation on request.
How is it different from grit blasting?
Grit blasting is aggressive and erodes detail. TORC swirls a fine granulate at low pressure so it lifts the dirt, not the surface.
Will it make a mess of my property or the site?
Run off and dust are controlled, surrounds protected, and we leave the area clean.

“RAMS in our hands 48 hours before mobilisation, supervisor on site every morning, and the snag list closed within a working week. That's the loop we expect from a tier-1 and rarely get from a decorator at this scale.”
