How is this calculated?

We start from 0.5 to 1.4 labour hours for each square metre, depending on what needs coating, and add up to 15% for harder sites.

If the site closes, we assume a contractor puts 8 to 12 people on site, each working a 10 hour day. That gives the days closed. Each closed day loses one trading day at the value you entered.

For our own timetable we assume a crew of 4 to 6, each working 40 hours a week around your opening hours, with the site open.

Why we built this

An estate manager or QS planning coating work needs a figure for the internal case: what closing the site would cost, against the price of a contractor who keeps it open. We work on sites that stay open for exactly that reason.
