How is this calculated?

Shutdown hours use a conservative {0.5–1.4 h/m²}base rate depending on scope, with a small access factor for site type. Lost trading pro-rates your daily figure across the operating hours you selected. A Star's programme uses ~400 m²/week of zonal throughput against the scope-weighted footprint.

Why we built this

The Estate Manager or QS commissioning a coating programme needs a number for the internal argument: the cost of the wrong contractor shutting the site, vs the price of a contractor who can keep it open. We work on live, occupied sites for that exact reason.
