The job

Decorate the shopfloor and back of house to Primark's own specification. The job also took in the lift lobbies and spraying the columns.

The challenge

The store never closed. Every area we worked in had to be ready for shoppers the next morning.

What we did

• We worked one area at a time and handed each one back before opening.
• We worked behind barriers in the lift lobbies and on the columns we sprayed, so shoppers stayed clear.
• We priced each change to the job.
• Before handover, we checked each floor for snags (small defects) and sent the client a report.

The result

• The store traded every day we were there.
• Our no-snag handover policy: every zone inspected and signed off before handover.
• The client had the O&M manual (the operation and maintenance file, listing the paints used and how to look after them) before handover.
