Primark · Stevenage (Phase 1)

The job

Phase 1 was the outside of the building. We redecorated the facade and resprayed the aluminium glazing frames. The render was cleaned, the window putty was treated and we ran a sandblasting trial on stained concrete panels.

The challenge

One prominent town centre building had four kinds of surface: render, aluminium glazing, concrete panels and timber windows. Each needed its own method and its own place in the order of work.

What we did

• We resprayed the aluminium glazing on site, in a finish the client approved.
• The render was cleaned with DOFF, a steam clean that uses high heat and low pressure. Our specialist partner, who is Stonehealth Rosette approved, did this inside our package, under our RAMS (risk assessments and method statements).
• We ran a sandblasting trial on the carbon stained concrete panels.
• We planned our work around R.G. Carter's scaffold and timetable.

The result

• Handed over in June 2026.
• We priced each change to the job before we started it.
• R.G. Carter then brought us back to decorate the inside and entrance of the same store (Phase 2).
