Facade cleaning: DOFF, TORC and jet wash · Portsmouth
DOFF superheated steam, TORC gentle abrasive, chemical, jet wash and soft wash cleaning for facades, cladding and hard surfaces, and for residential exteriors: period brick, natural stone, patios, driveways and block paving. Method chosen to the substrate. Heritage safe is the default, not an upgrade, backed by the same RAMS and insurance we supply to main contractors. Delivered across Portsmouth and Hampshire. Painters and decorators for homes across Portsmouth, Southsea and the wider area. Portsmouth has dense Victorian and Edwardian terraced housing through Southsea, Fratton and Eastney, post war housing around Cosham and Paulsgrove, and a good deal of rendered and bay fronted stock that the island setting leaves exposed to salt air and weather. Coastal exposure is hard on exterior paintwork, timber and window frames, so the prep and the choice of coating matter if the finish is going to hold up. We take on interior redecoration room by room, exterior masonry, render and woodwork picked for the exposure, and on site restoration of faded aluminium frames rather than replacement where the frames are still sound. Every job is quoted in writing before we start, furniture and floors are protected, the place is left tidy at the end of each day, and we walk the finished work with you before we pack up. Because we know what the sea air does here, we will be straight with you at the visit about what needs doing and what does not. Tell us the rooms, the outside, or the whole house and we will come and look.

Portsmouth programme
Substrate type confirmed (stone, brick, render, cladding), soiling type assessed (atmospheric, biological, paint, soot), test area agreed with client. Pressure or steam method confirmed before any work begins.
DOFF steam for heritage or sensitive substrates; TORC gentle abrasive where carbon sulphation, ingrained staining, paint or limescale will not shift with steam alone; chemical biocide for biological growth; jet wash for hard surfaces where pressure won't damage; softwash where pressure and chemistry both need controlling. Run off pH and disposal route set out.
RAMS written for the project: chemical handling, PPE matrix, run off containment plan, exclusion zones during application, pedestrian and vehicle protection. COSHH for any biocide or neutraliser.
Containment bunded, test area cleaned and signed off by client, full application by elevation. Neutraliser applied where chemical spec calls for it. Public access protected throughout.
Before/after photo record, cleaning record (method, products, pH readings where relevant), condition note if coating or restoration work is to follow.
